IoT, or the Internet of Things, encompasses everything connected to the internet, essentially it defines objects that 'talk' to each other. IoT devices connected to the internet via Wi-Fi provide real-time data to automated IoT systems such as Zigbee modules. These modules can be used in home automation systems to control and monitor electronic devices and utilities such as heating and lighting.
Although a niche market, there are use cases for LoRaWAN & SigFox, such as monitoring and command & control functionality. IoT also includes GPS capability through the use of MikroE click boards. This is done by receiving long or short-range GNSS frequencies and then translating them to the user. Visit our Project Hub for tutorials on how to use IoT applications.
Connectivity in it's simplest form is how well hardware and software devices are able to interact with each other. In terms of IoT connectivity, antennas and devices that use Bluetooth & Wi-Fi allow sensors to collect and send data over wide areas even on low power. View more View less
