Global Category Manager – Smart Home & IoT

The Global Category Manager is responsible for developing a product category strategy/business plan aligned with the wider OKdo strategy and key stakeholders enabling continued diversification of the OKdo product range, profitable growth, customer acquisition and ROI in addition to effective supplier management through delivery of the best in class global offer for our customers.

The Smart Home & IoT product category strategy and business plan are developed collaboratively with key stakeholders across the OKdo business. Most importantly this incorporates a focus on specific industry verticals and brands. It defines and details the global supplier portfolio, product range and growth initiatives. It is also the foundation for plans and execution of other related functions such as supply chain investments and planning.

What You will need to be successful in this role

  • Track record in product/category management or related functional discipline
  • Business planning and execution capability across Smart Home or IoT product category
  • Ability to function effectively across cultures, to think and act appropriately, and to communicate and work with people from different cultural backgrounds

What’s Great About The Role

The role is responsible for the following processes:

  • SBC & IoT Product category strategy planning, governance and execution.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of supplier strategies and business plans
  • Execution and governance of supplier business plans and value extraction as part of product category strategy.
  • Coordinate and optimise commercial performance across all relevant functions (e.g. inventory, pricing, digital, content and marketing).
  • Successful NPI delivery for products within category strategy.
  • Communication and collaboration across relevant OKdo and group stakeholders.

  • Experience in product development and manufacturing setup

Export Sales & Logistics Co-ordinator

Remote – with occasional travel

OKdo aims to become the first choice provider of SBC and IOT products, software and services to the global market.  It will deliver across multiple customer segments and is technology agnostic, focusing on the Maker/Pro; IoT; and Industrial.  The business is agile, with a start-up mentality that is at the leading edge of the changing market and will move quickly to meet evolving customer needs.

Role Purpose

To provide a best in class customer service experience to OKdo customers by demonstrating and driving a high-performance culture managing a portfolio of global customer accounts. To process export customer orders paying close attention promptly and efficiently to compliance regulatory requirements that will ensure goods can be shipped in a timely and efficient manner to a global customer base. To manage our 3PL in all aspects of continuous improvement, being the link between OKdo & 3PL for both supply chain and export/domestic logistics. The right person must be comfortable in a fast pace, global and dynamic environment, energetic and be experienced in handling and processing customer export orders, as well as some experience managing a 3PL and awareness of continuous improvement methodologies.

What’s Great About The Role

Export and sales co-ordination

  • Establish and build strong relationships with OKdo export customers across multiple global territories
  • Work with customers in all relevant global markets to understand local export compliance, regulatory and customs requirements
  • Process all customer OKdo export orders promptly, accurately and efficiently running trade compliance checks through Amber Road where appropriate.
  • Checking stock availability in ERP system, informing customer of expected shipment date, maintaining close contact with the customer at all stages of order processing
  • Resolve customer enquiries on export order delivery status
  • Build knowledge by attending appropriate Export awareness courses

3PL + Logistics Management

  • Work closely with 3PL distribution partner to ensure shipments to all export customers have customs and import documentation appropriate to the country of ultimate destination (sales invoice, certificate of origin etc.)
  • Establish and maintain close working relationship with OKdo Supply Chain, Sales, Finance and Customer Services teams
  • Work with 3PL partner and freight forwarding companies to resolve any documentation queries on delayed/held shipments/short shipments and incorrect allocation of stock

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive a program of prioritised, continuous process improvement internally and externally with our 3PL, with customer experience, and operating costs in mind, for our B2B customer set in particular
  • Identify inconsistencies where processes are impacting customer experience.
  • Standardise documentation for function consistency and brand goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade Compliance knowledge (Amber Road)
  • Experience of working in a matrix environment
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of Net Suite ERP system
  • Ability to operate in a second language
  • Previous experience of working in an operations environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of Single Board Computing and IoT and a passion for electronics.
