DFRobot Gravity: Analog Turbidity Sensor For Arduino

The Gravity: Analog Turbidity Sensor for Arduino was designed by DFRobot to detect water quality by measuring the level of turbidity, or the opaqueness. Measuring water quality is now easy and affordable using the Analog Turbidity Sensor compatible with Arduino. The sensor is able to detect suspended particles in water by measuring the light transmittance and scattering rate, which changes with the amount of total suspended solids in water.

Why should you buy the Gravity: Analog Turbidity Sensor for Arduino?

  • The Gravity: Analog Turbidity Sensor for Arduino SEN0189 is a practical and affordable choice when needing to measure water quality and other water parameters.
  • You can use this turbidity sensor for Arduino not only to measure water quality but also to integrate it into exciting projects, such as building an automatic water changing system that would supply a fish tank with clean water.

How does the Analog Turbidity Sensor work?

The Arduino compatible turbidity sensor detects water quality by measuring the level of turbidity. The sensor is able to detect suspended particles in water by measuring the light transmittance and scattering rate which changes with the amount of total suspended solids (TSS) in water. As the TTS increases, the liquid turbidity level increases.

This Arduino turbidity sensor has both analog and digital signal output modes. You can select the mode according to the MCU as the threshold is adjustable in digital signal mode.

Interface Description:

  1. “D/A” Output Signal Switch
    1. “A”: Analog Signal Output, the output value will decrease when in liquids with a high turbidity
    2. “D”: Digital Signal Output, high and low levels, which can be adjusted by the threshold potentiometer
  2. Threshold Potentiometer: you can change the trigger condition by adjusting the threshold potentiometer in digital signal mode.
