If you’ve always wanted wireless and maintenance-free sensors and actuators such as room operating panels, motion sensors or valve actuators for heating control, now you can. And it’s all thanks to the EnOcean ISM-band transmitter module STM 300. It’s power supply is generated by an external energy harvester (such as a small solar cell or a thermal harvester). Then you simply connect up an energy storage device externally to bridge those supply down times from the energy harvester. The module features a voltage limiter to prevent the module from overheating at times of excess power supply, whilst it also delivers an easily configured cyclic wake up every 1, 10 or 100secs.
