Bring Wi-Fi connectivity to embedded applications in superfast time with the RN-131-EK is a Wi-Fi evaluation kit for the RN131 module. With the flexibility to link directly to a PC through a standard USB interface or to embedded processors through the TTL/UART interface, the board also features two handy push buttons for controlling both SoftAP and WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) mode without the need to configure the software. Fast prototyping and integration into current systems are made possible thanks to the status LEDs and jumpers. And to make life truly simple, the RN131 module is programmed and controlled from a console with a simple ASCII command language. Once you establish the configuration, the module automatically scans to locate an access point, associate, authenticate, and connect over any Wi-Fi network. Finally, the module can automatically wake up, transmit data to a remote host and then return to a low-power sleep state.
