Based on the Adafruit Trellis board, this comprehensive kit lets you has build an 8 x 8 LED button grid. Complete with translucent button pads, controller pads, diffused white LEDS and a custom laser cut enclosure, you’ll find it truly easy to use since all you need is an Arduino Leonardo and the basic soldering tools. Simply put it together and programme it with the Arduino IDE, and you’ll have a USB MIDI device that runs with any PC you care to name.
The default example program transmits a MIDI Note On and Off message for every button press. So, with a touch of programming, you’ll send and receive every MIDI command. You’ll also find it compatible with just about all synthesiser software.
Introducing add-ons such as accelerometers, potentiometers or rotary encoders is child’s play using libraries from the Internet as this clever device is Arduino powered.
